Healthy Volunteers Needed
JBR Research is looking for healthy volunteers for a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational topical medication to relieve muscle pain and or soreness.
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
JBR Clinical Research is looking for healthy volunteers for a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational topical medication to relieve muscle pain and or soreness. Participants cannot regularly (weekly) train the upper extremities (specifically biceps) with any form of resistance training (weights, gym equipment, or bands) during the past 3 months
Why participate in this clinical research study?
Clinical studies are what allow all medications to come to market, including drugs that treat pain, infections, and various medical conditions. Without clinical studies, no medications would be available for use and are only possible with the help of participants like you. Compensation varies by study and time involved, and whether you complete all visits and procedures in the study. Every volunteer study at JBR Clinical Research is approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to make sure the risks are as low as possible and are worth any potential benefits to the volunteer.
What to expect.
Patients that qualify for the study will be asked to complete a special exercise regimen designed to cause muscle pain/soreness.
- 24-48 hours later patients will start their 2-night stay where they will test the topical study medication in our state of the art facility.
- Participants may be compensated for their time and travel.
Space in the delayed onset muscle soreness study is limited. To be considered, please fill out the form below or call 801-261-2000.

FDA Approved Procedures
Rest assured, you are not signing up for an “experimental” procedure. JBR Clinical Research only performs FDA approved procedures as if you were at any other hospital or clinic. Our research is focused on the pain medication associated with that procedure.
Why Does JBR Need Healthy Volunteers?
Medical research continues to bring new medication and treatments to help make all of our lives better. The FDA requires clinical research, trials, or medical studies, to test the efficacy of these new drugs. JBR Clinical Research is a national leader in conducting these clinical research studies.
Clinical trials at JBR Clinical Research are not only reserved for those experiencing health issues. In fact, a large aspect of clinical trials relies on the volunteering from healthy participants. Medical researchers can be provided valuable information when comparing healthy volunteers with those who have specific illnesses.
The main objective during a clinical trial on healthy volunteers is safety. Medical researchers need to determine how a certain drug is metabolized by the body. Drugs can be administered by a variety of routes depending on the intended site of action, drug metabolism, chemical properties of the medication and ease of use.
In clinical trials, Phase I requires the testing of the investigational drug on healthy volunteers to assist those at JBR Clinical Research in determining the most effective route to administer the drug.
JBR Clinical Research needs healthy volunteers to participate in a variety of Utah clinical trials such as H1N1 and other flu vaccines, wisdom teeth extraction pain management, women’s ailments, bunion treatment studies, type II diabetes and more.
Clinical Trial Compensation Eligibility
As medical research continues to bring new medication and treatments that help make all of our lives better, healthy volunteers can experience the satisfaction of participating and assisting in the development these drugs. JBR Clinical Research compensates volunteers for both their time and travel. Please fill out the form or call 801-261-2000 to sign up for future clinical trials as a healthy participant.
If you’re interested in the types of studies that you may be eligible for as well as the types of compensation that are available to you, please submit the form and we will let you know when a study is about to begin that interests you or that you are qualified for.
